Form ISR-1: Update Your Share Details
What it is
ISR-1 is the form the registrar uses to add or update your details on paper shares: PAN, address, bank account, signature, contact details and nominee. It’s the form asked for most on old folios, because an untouched folio usually has several details out of date at once. Other ISR forms cover signatures (ISR-2) and nominations. We tell you which you need.
When you need it
You’re updating details on paper shares held with a registrar.
The registrar says your folio is frozen or incomplete until KYC is done.
You need to fix your PAN, address or bank before a claim can move.
You want to add a nominee to your shares.
When you don’t
The shares are already in demat, so you update details through your broker (DP).
The shares have moved to IEPF, which is a different route.
